About the event
Yoga is an ancient tradition that helps to balance the body, mind and spirit. There is a growing amount of research that proves yoga is effective in managing and improving depression. Many research and treatment centers across the country now offer yoga as a complementary treatment to improve our mental and emotional health.
Join certified yoga instructor Brynn Daniels for an introduction to yoga techniques for managing depression. In this two hour workshop, we will cover gentle asanas (physical postures), pranayama (breathing), meditation, and mindfulness practices that can be helpful for those coping with depression. This course is open to students of all levels and abilities, with variations and modifications of physical postures emphasized throughout. This workshop will give you an introduction to specific yogic techniques that target depressive symptoms. You will leave with the confidence to integrate these techniques into a home yoga practice.
Brynn has been a practicing yogi for 12 years and teaching for five. She specializes in back care yoga and is impeccable at teaching alignment and anatomy to improve physical functioning. During her Mindful Yoga Teacher Training, Brynn developed a passion for the healing power yoga can have on our inner selves and has since developed workshops and teaching series on yoga’s abilities to improve our emotional and mental health needs.
