Everyone deserves access to mental health care where they feel safe being themselves. For LGBTQ+ individuals, finding a therapist who approaches their experiences with openness, respect, and genuine acceptance can make an important difference in the therapeutic relationship.
You may be seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, or everyday life challenges. Perhaps you're navigating family expectations, discrimination, identity-related stress, or significant life changes. Or perhaps your sexual orientation or gender identity has nothing to do with why you're seeking therapy.
At WholeLife Integrative Therapy, we believe your identity is something to be respected, not something that needs to be explained, defended, or changed.
We provide compassionate, LGBTQ+ affirming psychotherapy that recognizes each person's unique experiences, relationships, strengths, and needs.
You deserve a therapeutic relationship grounded in dignity, trust, and acceptance.
Our Approach to
LGBTQ+
Affirming Therapy

Affirming psychotherapy begins with the therapeutic relationship. At WholeLife, we strive to create an environment where clients can discuss their experiences openly, without assumptions or pressure to fit a particular narrative.
Treatment is guided by your concerns, goals, and clinical needs, drawing from established psychotherapeutic approaches and a commitment to individualized care.
We respect each individual's identity, relationships, and lived experiences. Therapy is grounded in acceptance, autonomy, and the understanding that sexual orientation and gender diversity are not disorders requiring correction.
Psychotherapy can help individuals explore communication patterns, boundaries, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and the impact of significant relationships. Treatment supports healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.
Collaboration &
Specialized Referrals

At WholeLife Integrative Therapy, we believe that compassionate, ethical care includes recognizing the unique needs of each individual and the importance of practicing within our areas of clinical expertise.
While we proudly provide LGBTQ+ affirming psychotherapy, we also recognize that some individuals may benefit from providers with specialized training in gender identity exploration, gender-related mental health care, or other specific areas of treatment.
Our commitment to affirming care means respecting each person's identity, autonomy, and individual goals while ensuring they have access to the most appropriate support. When specialized expertise would be beneficial, we can help connect clients with qualified professionals and, with their consent, collaborate to support continuity of care.
Being an affirming practice means more than offering acceptance. It means approaching every individual with dignity, humility, and a genuine commitment to their well-being.
What to Expect In Therapy

Beginning therapy can feel vulnerable, particularly if you've previously experienced misunderstanding, rejection, or judgment. At WholeLife, your therapist will take time to understand your experiences, concerns, and goals without making assumptions about what your identity means or what you should want from treatment.
Some clients wish to discuss experiences directly related to sexual orientation, gender identity, family acceptance, or discrimination. Others are seeking support for concerns that have little or nothing to do with identity. Both are welcome.
We'll work collaboratively to determine an approach that fits your needs, drawing on the therapist's clinical training and areas of competence.
If specialized services outside our scope of practice would better meet your goals, we'll discuss referral options with transparency and respect.
